2027 APC CAMPAIGN COUNCIL NAMES RELEASED, TINUBU CHAIRMAN

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has constituted the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general election, with the President himself taking charge as chairman.

 

The composition of the campaign council was announced on Saturday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.

 

Former Zamfara State Governor Abdulaziz Yari has been appointed Director-General of the campaign, while Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma will serve as secretary.

 

President Tinubu will chair the council, with Vice President Kashim Shettima serving as vice chairman.

The APC National Secretary, Ajibola Bashiru, and Hadiza Bala-Usman were named Deputy Secretary and Assistant Secretary respectively.

 

The campaign council will also have a team of senior political advisers, including former APC National Chairman Bisi Akande, former Ogun State Governor Segun Osoba, former Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha, former APC National Chairman Abdullahi Adamu and Senator Florence Ita Giwa.

 

Senate President Godswill Akpabio, House of Representatives Speaker Tajudeen Abbas and Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni were appointed Deputy Directors-General for the southern and northern sections of the campaign.

 

They will work alongside Senator Bamidele Opeyemi and Deputy Senate President Jibril Barau in coordinating activities across the two broad regions.

 

Former Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole was named Deputy Director-General in charge of mobilisation, while the President’s Chief of Staff will oversee administration as Deputy Director-General.

 

James Abiodun Faleke, who played a key role in Tinubu’s 2023 presidential campaign, is returning as Deputy Director-General for Election Planning, Coordination and Monitoring.

 

Faleke will coordinate zonal directors across the country, with Senator Olushola Adeyeye overseeing the South-West, Dr Ngozi Olejeme the South-South, Senator Uche Ekwunife the South-East, Muntaqha Rabe the North-West, Ahmed Muhammed Ketso the North-Central and Senator Sani Danladi the North-East.

Stella Okotete, Engineer Abdullahi Garba Ramat and Audu Maikori were appointed to serve as secretaries of the Election Planning Directorate.

 

The Legal Directorate will be headed by Muiz Adeyemi Banire, supported by Dr Liman Hassan and Babatunde Ogala as deputies. Other members include Attorney-General and Minister of Justice Prince Lateef Fagbemi, former Katsina State Governor Ibrahim Shema, Worgu Boms and Dr Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh.

 

For media and strategic communication, Minister of Information and National Orientation Mohammed Idris will serve as Coordinating Director, working alongside Dele Alake, Bayo Onanuga and Lanre Issa-Onilu.

 

Tunde Rahman, Sunday Dare, Daniel Bwala and Felix Morka were also appointed Coordinating Deputy Directors in the Media Directorate.

 

The campaign council said its mandate would include communicating the achievements of the Tinubu administration and presenting its agenda to voters ahead of the 2027 election.

 

The council expressed confidence that the campaign would mobilise support for the APC and urged members to work towards retaining the presidency in 2027.
