#2027: Ogah Asserts El-Rufai No Match for Tinubu Despite Social Media Buzz

A member of the House of Representatives, Chinedu Ogah, has responded to reports of an alleged alliance between former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai and the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi. The HEADLINENEWS Nigeria understands that rumors suggest Obi and El-Rufai have joined forces to challenge President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 election.

In his reaction, Ogah, the lawmaker representing the Ikwo/Ezza South federal constituency of Ebonyi State and chairman of the House Committee on Reformatory Institutions, argued that Tinubu outshines other opposition politicians gearing up for the 2027 presidential race. Speaking to reporters, Ogah emphasized that he hasn’t identified any politician capable of rivaling Tinubu due to the latter’s performance and track record.

Ogah insisted that Tinubu is well-informed about the country’s challenges and is actively working to address them. He praised Tinubu’s leadership, highlighting the importance of legislators being responsive to their constituents’ needs, especially after the lessons learned from the 2023 elections.

Furthermore, Ogah expressed confidence in Tinubu’s capabilities and questioned the viability of any competitors in the 2027 elections. He dismissed the social media chatter and downplayed El-Rufai’s potential candidacy, citing his inability to secure victory in his own state of Kaduna. Ogah concluded that Tinubu remains unmatched for the 2027 race.
