Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has declared that no political party, other than the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), can claim dominance in Kano or Nigeria ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking to a massive crowd that gathered to welcome him back from APC activities in Abuja, the governor dismissed the prospects of opposition parties, including the African Democratic Congress (ADC), asserting that APC remains the winning party at all levels.
“APC in Kano State is the only winning party. There is no other party that can take control of Kano and Nigeria, by the grace of Allah,” he said.
Responding to critics who labelled him a one-term governor, Yusuf affirmed that his political future is secure within APC. “We did one term in NNPP and left. We will do the second term in APC. There are two terms in APC, the party of the people,” he added.
The governor also pledged full support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, commending his efforts in boosting the economy and infrastructure. He further reiterated his administration’s commitment to delivering dividends of democracy in education, health, infrastructure, agriculture, and youth empowerment.
Urging eligible voters to register with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Yusuf called on citizens to actively support APC in the upcoming polls.
Kano State APC Chairman, Umar Doguwa, said the large turnout during the governor’s reception demonstrated widespread public backing. Yusuf’s convoy, normally a 15-minute journey from Malam Aminu Kano International Airport to the Government House, reportedly took several hours due to the massive crowd lining the route.
