2027 RACE BEGINS AS ACCORD PARTY UNVEILS LAGOS GOVERNORSHIP, SENATORIAL CANDIDATES

The Lagos State chapter of the Accord Party has officially unveiled its candidates for the 2027 general election, signaling the start of its campaign preparations across the state

At a ceremony held in Lagos, the party presented its governorship candidate, senatorial candidates, and aspirants for the House of Representatives and Lagos State House of Assembly. Certificates of Return were also issued to candidates contesting various elective positions.

The party reaffirmed its endorsement of Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim as its presidential candidate for the 2027 presidential election.

Speaking at the event, Lagos State Accord Party Chairman, Dele Oladeji, said the unveiling formally confirmed the party’s candidates and marked a major step in its efforts to provide voters with an alternative political platform ahead of the elections.

According to him, the party is committed to promoting social justice, good governance, improved security, and policies that enhance the welfare of citizens.

Several candidates used the occasion to outline their priorities, including improved governance, infrastructure development, job creation, youth empowerment, and increased accountability in public service.

The party’s senatorial and legislative candidates also encouraged citizens to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards and actively participate in the democratic process, while calling for free, fair, and credible elections.

In addition, the party emphasized the need for greater female participation in politics, advocating policies that support women’s empowerment and inclusive governance.

Accord Party leaders expressed confidence that their candidates would offer voters a credible choice and strengthen the party’s presence ahead of the 2027 general election.
