President pledges improved living conditions, education, skills development and economic prosperity as he seeks a renewed mandate.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appealed to Nigerians to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2027 general elections, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to job creation, economic opportunities, improved living conditions and a more prosperous future.

Addressing supporters at an All Progressives Congress (APC) endorsement rally in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, the President emphasised the importance of electoral participation and urged citizens to exercise their democratic rights.
According to reports of his remarks, Tinubu appealed directly to Nigerians who had yet to collect their PVCs, stressing that their participation in the electoral process was essential to shaping the country’s future.
The President also pledged to prioritise education, employment, skills development and national progress, assuring Nigerians of his determination to deliver greater economic opportunities.
His message comes as the country approaches another decisive electoral cycle, with economic recovery, employment, inflation, food affordability and social protection remaining central concerns for millions of households.

Since assuming office in May 2023, the Tinubu administration has undertaken extensive economic reforms, including petrol subsidy removal, foreign exchange restructuring, infrastructure investment and measures aimed at strengthening public revenue and attracting investment.
These reforms have involved substantial adjustment costs, particularly for households and businesses confronting higher transportation, energy and food prices.
However, the administration maintains that the measures were necessary to correct longstanding economic distortions, improve fiscal sustainability and establish a stronger foundation for national development.
The President’s latest assurances reflect an increasing emphasis on translating economic stabilisation into tangible improvements in the daily lives of ordinary Nigerians.

Central to this objective are employment generation, improved purchasing power, expanded social protection, infrastructure development and greater opportunities for young people.
Speaking on the economic potential of Akwa Ibom State, Tinubu identified agriculture and industrial development as important drivers of sustainable employment and economic diversification.
He also reaffirmed support for strategic infrastructure initiatives capable of stimulating commerce, investment and economic activities within the state and beyond.
The President commended Governor Umo Eno for his developmental initiatives and expressed confidence in the state’s capacity to contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s economic transformation.

The President’s appeal for PVC collection also forms part of a broader effort to encourage electoral participation ahead of the 2027 presidential contest.
For the governing APC, the forthcoming election presents an opportunity to seek public endorsement of its reform agenda and demonstrate the progress achieved since 2023.
Nevertheless, the administration’s economic record will ultimately be assessed by Nigerians against practical indicators, including the affordability of essential commodities, employment opportunities, electricity supply, transportation costs and household welfare.
While macroeconomic indicators provide important measures of national economic performance, their benefits must increasingly translate into improvements in citizens’ purchasing power and quality of life.
The President’s renewed promises therefore place considerable emphasis on the next phase of governance, during which economic recovery is expected to become more visible through productive investment, employment creation and people-focused development initiatives.

As preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum, Tinubu’s message underscores both the democratic importance of voter participation and his administration’s commitment to sustaining reforms intended to deliver long-term prosperity.
His appeal also serves as a reminder that the Permanent Voter Card remains an essential instrument through which eligible Nigerians can participate in choosing their leaders and shaping the nation’s future.
For President Tinubu, the central message is one of continuity, opportunity and confidence that the foundations already established can support a stronger, more productive and prosperous Nigeria.
