A 70-year-old landlord named Adesina was arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly defiling and impregnating his 14-year-old tenant’s daughter in Ifesowapo Akute, If Local Government Area, Ogun State.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, around 10:15 p.m. when the tenants and other residents discovered the landlord having sex with the teenage girl in the bathroom of the house. The young girl had reportedly gone to the bathroom to take a shower when the landlord allegedly gained access and sexually assaulted her.
The neighbors and community members who were present at the scene raised the alarm, leading to the arrest of the 71-year-old suspect by the personnel of the Ajuwon Police Division in Ogun State.
The 14-year-old victim was taken to the hospital by her father for a medical evaluation after receiving advice from the police and other authorities regarding the need for the child to receive treatment to prevent infection.
Omolola Odutola, a spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, confirmed the incident and stated that the State Criminal Investigation Department had taken up the case, promising to question all those involved.
