President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed that Nigeria will not succumb to pressure from within or outside the country aimed at destabilising its security.
During a visit to troops on the frontlines in Katsina State on Friday, Tinubu assured the armed forces of his full support, vowing to prioritise their welfare and provide the necessary tools to overcome the nation’s security threats.
“To those who seek to destabilise our country—whether domestic collaborators or foreign agents—hear this clearly: Nigeria will not bow. Not to fear, not to terror, and not to treachery,” he declared.
His visit comes amid a surge in attacks across Borno, Plateau, Benue, and Enugu states.
Government’s Commitment to Troops
Encouraging the troops, Tinubu said his administration is working to enhance military capabilities with advanced equipment, intelligence, and logistics. “We’re not just defending this nation—we’re determined to dominate and defeat every threat,” he stated.
The President stressed that beyond weapons, troop welfare is a top priority. “We’re implementing housing programs, family support systems, insurance coverage, improved pay, and guaranteed healthcare. Your families must be safe, and your dignity protected.”
He hailed the military as the “silent guardians of our democracy,” expressing deep gratitude for their sacrifices. “Your resilience and courage inspire the entire nation. You face danger not for fame or fortune, but out of love for our country. That is the highest form of patriotism.”
A Call to Defend the Nation
Tinubu urged the armed forces to stay committed as the country faces threats from terrorism, banditry, and insurgency. “This is a defining moment in our history. Nigerians are counting on you. Let your resolve shake the forests and valleys. Let the enemies of Nigeria know: their time is up.”
He acknowledged that defeating terrorism requires more than firepower—it demands unwavering will and unity.
“As your Commander-in-Chief, I will match your courage with decisive action and support,” he said. “With your discipline and bravery, peace will prevail. Stand tall, be proud—Nigeria depends on you.”
The President concluded with a rallying message: “Stay strong. Stay focused. For God and country. May God bless the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
