The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially recognised the new leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), bringing months of internal disputes to a close.
According to the commission’s updated records, Senator David Mark has been confirmed as National Chairman, while former Osun State governor Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola assumes the role of National Secretary. Other key officers include:
Dr. Mani Ibrahim Ahmad – National Treasurer
Akibu Dalhatu – National Financial Secretary
Prof. Oserheimen Aigberaodion Osunbor – National Legal Adviser
With this recognition, the newly constituted executive is now the authentic leadership structure of the ADC. The move is expected to bring clarity, stability, and renewed direction to the party’s administration.
Stakeholders say the development positions the ADC to play a stronger role in Nigeria’s political landscape ahead of the 2027 general elections, where the opposition coalition—backed by prominent figures like Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Nasiru El-Rufai, and Rotimi Amaechi—has already adopted the party as its platform.
