Tinubu Pledges Continued Support for Nigerian Youths to Soar

On Tuesday, President Bola Tinubu reiterated his administration’s dedication to empowering Nigerian youths through targeted policies and funding to unlock their potential. Speaking during his Independence Day address commemorating Nigeria’s 65th anniversary, Tinubu hailed young Nigerians as the nation’s “greatest assets” and encouraged them to pursue ambitious dreams and innovations in fields such as science, technology, sports, arts, and the creative sector.

“To our young people, the future of this blessed nation, I urge you to keep dreaming big, innovating, and excelling in your chosen fields,” Tinubu said. “Our administration is committed to providing the opportunities and resources you need to soar to new heights.”

Highlighting the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), Tinubu noted that the initiative has already supported over 510,000 students across 228 higher institutions in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. As of September 10, NELFUND has disbursed N99.5 billion in loans and N44.7 billion in upkeep allowances to students.

Tinubu emphasized that his government will continue to bolster programs like NELFUND to ensure Nigerian youths remain globally competitive and prepared for future challenges.
