Former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has been released from Kuje Prison after meeting the bail conditions set by a Magistrate Court in Abuja.

Sowore, Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer Aloy Ejimakor, Kanu’s brother Prince Emmanuel Kanu, and 11 others were arrested during last week’s #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protest in Abuja. They were charged with unlawful assembly and public disturbance before Magistrate Abubakar Umar Sai’id.
Bail was set at ₦500,000 each, requiring a verified NIN, three-year tax clearance, and passport submission. After meeting these terms, Sowore and the others regained their freedom on Monday.

Sowore’s arrest came shortly after he attended a separate court session at the Federal High Court in Abuja. Nnamdi Kanu, meanwhile, remains in DSS custody on terrorism charges related to his separatist movement.
