Armed security operatives on Monday sealed the national secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abuja, hours after factional acting national chairman Mohammed Abdulrahman assumed office.

The officers also shut down Legacy House in Maitama, which serves as the PDP’s campaign and convention committee office, effectively halting all party activities at both locations.
Abdulrahman, backed by a faction loyal to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, had earlier arrived at the secretariat with supporters and held a closed-door meeting with suspended national secretary Samuel Anyanwu and other allies. He later told reporters he had officially taken over as acting chairman and was consulting on convening a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.

Shortly after his departure, armed police and NSCDC personnel ordered staff out and locked the gates of both buildings.
It remains unclear who ordered the operation, though sources suggest it may have been influenced by the Anyanwu-led faction or meant to prevent clashes between rival PDP camps.
