- President Bola Tinubu has declared a state of emergency on training facilities for the Nigeria Police Force, NSCDC, and other internal security agencies, citing their poor and outdated condition.

Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah, who chairs the NEC ad-hoc Committee on the Overhaul of Security Training Institutions, announced this during an inspection of facilities in Lagos. He was accompanied by Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, former IGP Alkali Usman Baba, and AIG Olatunji Disu.

Mbah said Tinubu, during the October 23 NEC meeting, directed the committee to submit a report within 30 days, stressing that modernising security training centres is essential to his vision of building a $1 trillion economy and ensuring personnel uphold human dignity.
