Suspected bandits on Sunday attacked the convoy of Jafaru Mohammed Ali, who represents Borgu/Agwara Federal Constituency in Niger State, along the Agwara–Babana road.

The ambush occurred around 1 p.m. near Kuble community as the lawmaker travelled to meet constituents. Witnesses said the gunmen opened fire after blocking the road, injuring several security personnel.
Soldiers were later deployed to rescue the victims and move the injured to a nearby hospital. The state police command has not yet commented on the incident.

Bandit attacks remain common across northern states like Niger, Zamfara, Kaduna, and Katsina, where armed groups frequently target highways and convoys for ransom and extortion.
