FG unveils new agricultural mechanisation programme, urges Nigerians to apply

The Federal Government, through the Bank of Agriculture, has announced the commencement of applications for the Renewed Hope National Agricultural Mechanisation Programme (RHAMP).

The initiative, developed in partnership with Heifer Nigeria, is aimed at boosting food security and supporting a new generation of agricultural mechanisation service providers, with emphasis on women, youth, and mechanisation firms.

According to a statement shared by Dada Olusegun, Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Social Media, applications are free and open via the official website — https://boanig.com — until November 10, 2025.

The programme provides access to affordable tractors and modern implements, along with a three-year maintenance plan through certified service centres and mobile workshops. It also offers flexible repayment terms tied to productivity and income, technical support, and IoT-enabled digital tracking systems.

Eligible applicants include youth and women agripreneurs aged 18 to 35, as well as mechanisation companies seeking to expand their operations. RHAMP features favourable terms such as three to five-year lease options, 15% interest rates, and a 25% down payment, with additional incentives for women and youth participants.

The initiative marks a major step in Nigeria’s drive to modernise agriculture, improve productivity, and empower rural communities.

President Tinubu had earlier unveiled the first phase of RHAMP in June, which included the distribution of 2,000 tractors, 50 bulldozers, 12 mobile workshops, and over 8,000 farming implements.

He reiterated his administration’s determination to strengthen agricultural productivity and ensure food self-sufficiency, saying the programme represents a “monumental leap forward” in achieving national food security goals.Headline news
