Police Arrest 71-Year-Old Adamawa Man for Allegedly Killing Wife After Beer Parlor Dispute

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 71-year-old man, Jeriel Peter, for allegedly killing his 67-year-old wife, Miltha Jeriel, following a domestic disagreement in Demsa Local Government Area.

According to the Command’s spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, the incident occurred on November 4 after a misunderstanding between the couple at a beer parlor escalated.

 

During the altercation, Peter reportedly attacked and stabbed his wife multiple times with a knife and an axe. Police operatives, led by the Divisional Police Officer of Demsa Division, responded swiftly after receiving a distress call and rushed the victim to the hospital, where she was confirmed dead.

 

Her remains have been deposited at the hospital mortuary for autopsy.

The Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, condemned the act and directed the State Criminal Investigation Department to take over the case for thorough investigation and prosecution.

 

Morris warned against domestic violence and urged the public to embrace peaceful conflict resolution, assuring residents that justice will be served.Headline news
