Bandits Raid Zamfara Community, Abduct Several Residents Including Four Children

Terrorists, locally known as bandits, have abducted multiple residents in Sado community, Talata Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

The gunmen, riding motorcycles, stormed the community on Thursday night, firing sporadically before kidnapping an undetermined number of villagers, including four children. Those taken remain in captivity.

 

Residents noted that the community has faced repeated attacks over the past year.

 

“Bandits last night entered Sado town, which is under Talata Mafara LGA of Zamfara State. They kidnapped many villagers, including four children, eight married women, and others,” a security source said.

Zamfara, along with Niger, Katsina, Sokoto, and other states in North-west and North-central Nigeria, continues to experience frequent bandit attacks, with kidnappings and killings occurring despite significant police and military deployments.

 

In 2019, the Zamfara State government under former governor Bello Matawalle signed a peace agreement with the gunmen, but attacks and abductions have continued.Headline news
