Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, marked his 53rd birthday on November 11, 2025, with a lively celebration attended by family, friends, political associates and top government figures at a private residence in Ikoyi.
Obasa, dressed casually with a bold chain, thrilled guests as he danced energetically to Naira Marley’s music, drawing cheers from attendees. The event also doubled as a celebration of his 10th year as Speaker, making him the longest-serving lawmaker in Lagos.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, in a message on his X handle, praised Obasa’s dedication and leadership, describing his contribution to Lagos’ progress as remarkable.
The celebration capped a dramatic year for the Speaker, who was impeached in January over allegations of misconduct, replaced by Deputy Speaker Mojisola Meranda, and later reinstated after a reconciliation process in March.
