President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep sadness over the killing of Nigerian Army personnel by ISWAP terrorists, including the brutal murder of Brigadier General Musa Uba.
The President’s reaction was contained in a statement released on Tuesday in Abuja by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

ISWAP fighters had reportedly abducted and killed several soldiers during an operation, with Brig. Gen. Uba among the casualties.
Tinubu extended his condolences to the military and families of the fallen officers, describing the loss as a painful blow to the nation.

“I sympathise with the military over the death of the gallant soldiers and Brigadier General Musa Uba, who paid the ultimate price while on active duty fighting insurgents in Borno State,” he said.
“As the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, I am depressed by the tragic death of our soldiers and officers on active duty. May God comfort the families of Brigadier General Musa Uba and other fallen heroes.”

The President urged residents in affected communities to assist security agencies by providing vital information that could help prevent attacks.
“Our security forces cannot succeed in protecting us if people do not cooperate and share information that will help keep our communities safe. Your cooperation is crucial in this fight,” he added.

Recent weeks have seen a spike in terrorist activities across the country, with several states—particularly Kwara—experiencing increased attacks that have forced residents to flee their homes.
