Shettima heads to Angola for AU-EU Summit

Vice President Kashim Shettima has left Johannesburg, South Africa, for Luanda, Angola, where he will represent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the 7th African Union–European Union (AU-EU) Summit.

Shettima’s trip comes after his participation in the 20th G20 Leaders’ Summit in Johannesburg, where he represented the President in discussions on global economic reforms, critical minerals, and the governance of artificial intelligence.

According to Mr. Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications, the AU-EU Summit will run from today through tomorrow in the Angolan capital.

The summit will convene Heads of State and Government from Africa and Europe, along with young leaders, innovators, and civil society groups, to discuss shared challenges and opportunities.

Agenda items include climate change, inclusive development, infrastructure modernization, growth of the digital economy, creative industries, manufacturing, and agribusiness.

The meeting aims to deliver actionable recommendations to strengthen AU-EU collaboration and promote sustainable development across both continents.
