Bandits have killed at least seven people in separate attacks in Plateau and Zamfara states, leaving several others missing and raising concerns over worsening security in the affected communities.
In Plateau State, gunmen attacked Bong village in Doemak District, Qua’an Pan Local Government Area, on Friday night. Residents reported that the assailants struck while villagers were asleep, carrying out a house-to-house assault that targeted women, children, and the elderly. Survivors described the attackers as heavily armed, swift, and disappearing into the night. Justin Mari, a native of the area, said the casualty figure could rise as some villagers remain unaccounted for.

Danaan Cletus Sylvanus, Director of Press and Publicity to the Executive Chairman of Qua’an Pan Local Government Council, confirmed the attack but noted that the exact number of fatalities is yet to be officially determined.
In Zamfara State, bandits ambushed travellers along the Danjibga–Kuncin Kalgo road in Tsafe Local Government Area, setting two vehicles on fire and abducting all passengers on board. Security alert platform Bakatsine confirmed the incident, highlighting ongoing insecurity on major roads in the state.

Residents in both states have called on federal and state authorities to urgently deploy security personnel to prevent further attacks and secure the release of abducted passengers. Security agencies have not yet issued official statements on the incidents.
