OSIMHEN, NDIDI, AWAZIEM PARTY IN LAGOS AFTER AFCON THIRD-PLACE WIN

Super Eagles players Victor Osimhen, captain Wilfred Ndidi, and defender Chidozie Awaziem were spotted at a Lagos nightclub on Sunday, just hours after Nigeria secured third place at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, PUNCH Online reports.

Social media personality and socialite Babatunde Akinpelu, popularly known as Tunde Perry, shared a video of himself with Osimhen at the club, while Ndidi and Awaziem appeared in the background. The outing reportedly formed part of Perry’s birthday celebration.

“Kai from Morocco Victor,” Perry captioned the clip, adding his signature slang: “Otorpinpin paaaaaa DATieeeee Mo,” meaning “know your squad.” He also remarked, “8 am on Sunday, on my birthday,” while filming himself with the Galatasaray striker. Osimhen received a warm welcome upon entering the venue.

The celebration followed Nigeria’s 4–2 penalty shootout victory over Egypt in Casablanca on Saturday, after a goalless draw in regular time, clinching the country’s ninth AFCON bronze medal.

In the third-place playoff, Nigeria faced Egypt after missing out on the semi-finals—losing 4–2 on penalties to hosts Morocco, while Egypt fell 1–0 to Senegal. Goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali was the hero for Nigeria, saving penalties from Mohamed Salah and Omar Marmoush, while Akor Adams, Moses Simon, Alex Iwobi, and Ademola Lookman converted their kicks to secure the win.

Although Osimhen did not play in the match, he was seen leaving Stade Mohammed V on Saturday after joining his teammates in the dressing-room celebrations. He scored four goals and provided one assist over five matches in the tournament.

Ndidi played in all of Nigeria’s games except the final group match against Uganda, sustaining an injury during the quarter-final against Algeria, while Awaziem came on as a substitute in four matches. Some teammates, including Sevilla duo Akor Adams and Chidera Ejuke, have already left Morocco, though others are expected for the medal presentation on Sunday.

Hosts Morocco and Senegal will meet in the AFCON final at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, with kickoff scheduled for 8:00 pm.
