President Bola Tinubu has directed the Nigerian Armed Forces to decisively neutralise the terrorists responsible for the recent attack in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State and restore lasting peace to the affected communities.
Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, made this known on Thursday in Abuja while speaking with journalists after a closed-door meeting with the president at the Presidential Villa.
The governor revealed that following the president’s directive, the lead commander of the newly launched Operation Savannah Shield has already arrived in Kwara State and commenced operations.
According to AbdulRazaq, his visit to the Presidential Villa was aimed at briefing President Tinubu on the security situation in Kaiama and expressing gratitude for the swift intervention and support provided by the federal government to stabilise the area.

He noted that the establishment of Operation Savannah Shield demonstrates the president’s commitment to restoring peace and deterring further attacks in the region.
The governor expressed confidence in the military’s response, stating that the arrival of the operation’s first commander in Ilorin marked the beginning of decisive action on the ground.

He added that President Tinubu has instructed the armed forces to move decisively against the attackers, secure the affected areas, and ensure that normalcy is fully restored across Kaiama and surrounding communities.
