President Bola Ahmed Tinubu attended the wedding ceremonies of the sons and daughters of Minister of State for Defence Bello Matawalle at the National Mosque in Abuja on Friday.

Matawalle, a former Governor of Zamfara State, married off ten of his children—five males and five females—in a grand event.
Among the brides’ husbands, four are from Zamfara State, while one is from Sokoto State.

The President served as the father of the brides (Waliyi) during the wedding Fatiha, which was conducted by prominent Islamic scholar Sheikh Dr. Abdullahi Bala Lau, National Chairman of the Jama’atu Izalatul Bidi’ah wa Ikamatus Sunnah (JIBWIS).
Since assuming leadership of Nigeria’s largest Salafi movement in December 2011, Sheikh Bala Lau has overseen its preaching, educational, and charitable initiatives.

The ceremony was attended by high-profile dignitaries, including Governors Abba Kabir Yusuf (Kano), Nasir Idris (Kebbi), and Uba Sani (Kaduna), along with former governors, serving and former ministers, lawmakers, diplomats, family, friends, and well-wishers from across the country.
Notable among the grooms are former Speaker of the Zamfara State House of Assembly, Nasiru Mu’azu Magarya, and the Director General of the National Agricultural Insurance Corporation (NAIC), Yazid Danfulani.

Special prayers were offered for God’s blessings on the newlywed couples during the Fatiha.
The event occurred just hours after a terrorist attack in Kwara State claimed over 100 lives.
