US SET TO DEPORT 18 NIGERIANS ON CRIMINAL LIST.

The United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has announced that 18 more Nigerians will be deported, raising the total number of Nigerians marked for removal to 97. The new list expands the crackdown on criminal immigrants already reported last week, when 79 Nigerians were identified for deportation.

A review of the DHS website on Monday revealed the additional names, indicating an intensification of the enforcement exercise. The newly listed individuals were mainly convicted of offences such as wire fraud, mail fraud, and identity theft.

In a statement, DHS said the arrests are part of a nationwide operation targeting criminal immigrants. “The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is highlighting the worst of the worst criminal aliens arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Under Secretary Noem’s leadership, DHS and ICE personnel are fulfilling President Trump’s commitment to carry out mass deportations, starting with the most dangerous, including the illegal aliens listed here,” the statement read.

The newly listed Nigerians include Oluwaseyanu Akinola Afolabi, Olugbeminiyi Aderibigbe, Benjamin Ifebajo, Obinwanne Okeke, Kolawole Aminu, Oluwadamilola Olufunsho Ojo, Franklin Ibeabuchi, Alex Afolabi Ogunshakin, Joshua Ineh, Stephen Oseghale, Eghosa Obaretin, Adesina Surajudeen Lasisi, Ibrahim Ijaoba, Azeez Yinusa, Charles Akabuogu, Kelechi Umeh, Lotenna Chisom Umeadi, Donald Ehie, and Chukwudi Kingsley Kalu.

Previously reported individuals include Boluwaji Akingunsoye, Ejike Asiegbunam, Emmanuel Mayegun Adeola, Bamidele Bolatiwa, Ifeanyi Nwaozomudoh, Aderemi Akefe, Solomon Wilfred, Chibundu Anuebunwa, Joshua Ineh, Usman Momoh, Oluwole Odunowo, Bolarinwa Salau, Oriyomi Aloba, Oludayo Adeagbo, Olaniyi Akintuyi, Talatu Dada, Olatunde Oladinni, Jelili Qudus, Abayomi Daramola, Toluwani Adebakin, Olamide Jolayemi, Isaiah Okere, Benji Macaulay, and Joseph Ogbara.

The updated numbers highlight the Trump administration’s firm approach to combating illegal and criminal immigration in the United States, with multiple foreign nationals, including Nigerians, affected by the deportation measures.
