President Bola Tinubu is set to host Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf on Monday for a formal reception marking his entry into the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Former presidential aide Bashir Ahmad announced on X that the event will take place at Sani Abacha Stadium, describing it as “a massive gathering for the progressive family.”
Governor Yusuf’s move comes weeks after he left the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and parted ways politically with his former mentor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, to join the APC.

The announcement has elicited mixed reactions on social media. While some welcomed the move as a boost for the ruling party, others criticized it. @DeFiVoyant commented, “A person that cannot win even local government chairman, Abba will surely learn in a hard way betrayal.” @Autarkeia_ wrote, “This is massive! Congratulations to the Progressive family.” Meanwhile, @TonyOrji8 accused the party of corruption, saying, “If you really loved Nigeria as you claimed you would not be promoting corruption… APC is the most corrupt party with heartless people.”

The official reception by President Tinubu is expected to strengthen Governor Yusuf’s position within the APC and signal his full integration into the ruling party.
