US TO DEPORT 19 MORE NIGERIANS ON ‘WORST OF THE WORST’ CRIMINALS LIST

At least 19 more Nigerians have been added to the United States government’s “worst of the worst” criminal list and are slated for deportation, bringing the total number of Nigerians on the list to 113.

The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) website confirmed the update on Sunday. The newly listed Nigerians were convicted of crimes including sexual assault of a minor, fraud, assault, drug trafficking, and money laundering, among others.

A statement from DHS noted that the indicted individuals were arrested by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and will be deported after completion of immigration procedures.

“The US Department of Homeland Security is highlighting the worst of the worst criminal aliens arrested by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement,” the statement read. “Under Secretary Kristi Noem’s leadership, the hardworking men and women of DHS and ICE are fulfilling Donald Trump’s promise and carrying out mass deportations—starting with the worst of the worst—including the illegal aliens you see here.”

The newly added Nigerians include Adeolu Solabu, Oladayo Agboola, Chinonso Ochie, Oluchi Jennifer Chimdimma Chime, Samuel Omorodion, Sunday Adediora, Sunday Kunkushi, and Mkpouto Etukudoh. Others are Marcus Unigwe, Kehinde James, Blessing Uchanma, Victor Adebisi, Richard Ugbah, Olaniyi Ojikutu, Oluwamuyiwa Olawoye, Okechukwu Amadi, Femi Jolayemi, Anthony Asanya, Izuchukwu Okoye, and Ebele Agbasiele.

This latest update follows the initial listing of 79 convicted Nigerians a few weeks ago, showing a steady rise in deportations under the Trump administration’s crackdown on criminal and undocumented migrants.

Observers are now questioning how Nigeria should handle the reintegration of these individuals once they return from the US. Should they be rehabilitated into society, or face stricter monitoring? Public opinion remains divided.
