KANO GOV SACKS HEAD OF SERVICE

The governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Tofa, said the move is part of ongoing efforts to enhance efficiency, discipline, and service delivery within the state civil service.

The governor expressed appreciation for Musa’s service and wished him success in his future endeavors. In the interim, the Permanent Secretary for Administration and General Services at the Cabinet Office, Hajiya Bilkisu Shehu Maimota, has been directed to serve as acting Head of Service until a permanent replacement is appointed. Musa has been instructed to hand over office affairs to Maimota by March 11, 2026.

This administrative change follows political realignments in Kano after Governor Yusuf’s defection from the New Nigeria Peoples Party to the All Progressives Congress. The move has prompted adjustments across government structures as the administration works to align with the new party framework while implementing civil service reforms.
