LAGOS LAUNCHES E-SYSTEM TO STREAMLINE BUILDING PERMIT APPROVALS

The Lagos State Government has unveiled an electronic system to streamline and speed up the process of obtaining physical planning permits.

The announcement was made by Kehinde Osinaike, General Manager of the Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority (LASPPPA), through a statement from the ministry’s Director of Public Affairs, Abimbola Emdin-Umeh.

The new platform, called the Electronic Physical Planning Permit Processing System, operates under e-LASPPPA and allows residents, property developers, and other stakeholders to apply for and manage planning permits entirely online, from any location.

Osinaike highlighted that the initiative aims to reduce delays associated with manual processing and make the approval process faster, more transparent, and user-friendly. He also emphasized that the system will ensure all building developments comply with approved regulations and standards.

Describing the move as part of Lagos State’s commitment to technology-driven governance, Osinaike encouraged residents, investors, and developers to take advantage of the platform to streamline their permit applications.

The initiative is seen as a key step toward a smart, digitally enabled governance system capable of meeting the demands of Lagos’s growing population.
