FG ORDERS WORKERS TO WORK FROM HOME OVER APC CONVENTION

The Federal Government has directed civil servants working at the Federal Secretariat in Abuja to work from home on Friday, March 27, 2026, ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) national convention.

The directive was contained in a circular signed by Abdul Garba, Permanent Secretary of the Service Welfare Office, on behalf of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.

According to the circular, all access roads leading to the Federal Secretariat Complex—Phases I, II, and III—will be closed from March 27 to March 28.

The government explained that the decision was taken because Eagle Square will be used for the APC national convention during that period.

As a result, all ministries, departments, and agencies within the affected area, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, have been instructed to operate remotely on Friday.

Heads of ministries and agencies have also been directed to ensure that all staff comply fully with the order.

The move is part of preparations for the convention, which is expected to draw party leaders, delegates, and supporters from across the country, as the APC sets the stage for its future political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.
