Supporters of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) from Kano State have been spotted sleeping on the streets and within the premises of the National Mosque in Abuja as they await the party’s national convention scheduled for March 27–28, 2026.
The convention is expected to draw thousands of party members and supporters from across the country as the APC prepares for key internal decisions and political activities.
In a viral video, a group of individuals—said to be loyal to Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf—were seen dressed in red attire and caps, lying on the tiled floors of the mosque.

A voice in the background, speaking in Hausa, expressed concern over their condition, questioning why people facing economic hardship would travel long distances to support political leaders.
“Look at what is happening here in Abuja. These are our brothers. They’ve been pushed around and are now sleeping on the streets,” the man said.
He added that many of them had come from Kano and were scattered across different parts of the city, enduring harsh conditions.
The narrator also criticised what he described as a contradiction—citizens struggling financially while still mobilising in support of political figures.
“Check properly, some of them don’t even have ₦100 in their accounts, yet they travelled all the way here for small money just to support politicians,” he said.
He ended by offering prayers, asking for relief and better conditions for the people.
The situation has sparked reactions online, with many Nigerians raising concerns about the welfare of political supporters and the broader economic realities facing ordinary citizens.
