Veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has reportedly been admitted to the operating theatre as he undergoes treatment following a reported stage 4 cancer diagnosis.
The development was announced by actress Toyosi Adesanya, who shared an update on social media while appealing to Nigerians to continue praying for the veteran actor.
Adesanya disclosed that urgent medical assistance had been secured for Ogogo through the intervention of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi.
According to her, the Ogun West senator personally contacted cancer specialists to help facilitate the actor’s treatment.
She said Ogogo has now been admitted to the operating theatre and expressed hope that the procedure would be successful.
Adesanya also thanked individuals who had offered prayers, shared appeals and provided suggestions or assistance following news of the actor’s health condition.
She called on well-wishers to continue supporting the veteran actor as he undergoes treatment.
Ogogo, one of the respected figures in the Yoruba film industry, has enjoyed a decades-long career in Nollywood and is widely recognised for his roles in numerous Yoruba-language productions.
As news of his treatment continues to circulate, fans and colleagues have taken to social media to express concern and wish him a successful procedure and full recovery.
Adesanya concluded her message with prayers for renewed strength and many more years of good health for the veteran actor.
