Chief Michael Aondoakaa, former Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, has resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The former minister attended the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national convention in Abuja on Sunday. According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Aondoakaa said his resignation, effective March 28, followed careful reflection and consultations with his family, political associates, and supporters.

Aondoakaa stated, “While I remain grateful for the opportunity to serve and contribute to the growth of the party at various levels during my membership, prevailing circumstances have made it necessary for me to take this step in the overall interest of my people and democratic values.”

He expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for his leadership and for the attention Benue State has received under his administration, assuring continued loyalty to the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The former AGF also thanked the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, for his leadership of the APC in Benue State, and acknowledged the support of party members in Ushongo Local Government Area, across Benue State, and beyond.

“The relationships built and experiences gathered remain invaluable,” Aondoakaa added.
