LAGOS PDP REJECTS TINUBU ENDORSEMENT CLAIM, LABELS VIRAL STATEMENT FAKE

The Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dismissed reports alleging that it endorsed President Bola Tinubu and his administration ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement released by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Christopher Odianarewo, the Lagos PDP described the claim as false and urged members of the public to ignore it.

The party stressed that President Tinubu is not a member of the PDP and insisted that it has not endorsed him, his government or the policies of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to the chapter, the statement circulating online lacked credibility because it had no identifiable author, official party logo, signature or approval from any recognised organ of the party.

The Lagos PDP alleged that the publication was deliberately designed to mislead the public and create unnecessary confusion within the party.

It reaffirmed its recognition of the Interim National Working Committee (INWC) led by Dr. Tanimu Turaki (SAN) and the Board of Trustees headed by Senator Adolphus Wabara as the party’s legitimate leadership.

The party also reiterated its commitment to the rule of law, due process and democratic values, pledging to resist any attempt to undermine its unity and integrity.

It urged party members, stakeholders, media organisations and Nigerians to disregard the alleged endorsement and remain cautious of false information.

The Lagos PDP further maintained that it remains focused on presenting a credible alternative to Nigerians in future elections.
