ODUNSI TO EQUIP 10,000 KOSOFE YOUTHS WITH DIGITAL SKILLS

Businesswoman and House of Representatives aspirant for Kosofe Federal Constituency, Remi Odunsi, has outlined plans to establish two digital skills and enterprise centres aimed at training about 10,000 young people, alongside broader initiatives focused on economic empowerment, healthcare improvement, and women’s access to finance.

Odunsi, who is contesting under the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections, made the disclosure on Monday in Abuja while presenting key components of her seven-point legislative agenda.

She said her vision is to scale up ongoing community development efforts through legislative influence at the National Assembly.

“I have been doing this work for years without holding public office. Imagine what becomes possible when someone with a genuine passion for service is elected into the National Assembly,” she said. “To truly transform lives in Kosofe, we must have a seat at the table where policies are made.”

Odunsi explained that her proposed intervention includes expanding access to finance for women, improving healthcare delivery for mothers and children, and attracting more federal infrastructure projects to commercial hubs within the constituency.

She also pledged to support the formalisation of 3,000 micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), linking them to credit facilities and digital markets to improve growth and sustainability.

The aspirant highlighted her past work in community development, noting that she has led empowerment programmes that reached over 4,000 beneficiaries across parts of Lagos, Ogun, and Ibadan in 2023.

In 2024, she partnered with Lotus Bank on an initiative that trained and provided funding support for market women through the Street Business School programme.

Through her “Threefold Impact” initiative, Odunsi has also facilitated solar-powered boreholes, supported school renovations, and distributed food supplies to more than 5,000 families.

She described Kosofe as a constituency with strong commercial potential, saying it only needs effective representation to unlock its full value.

“Kosofe has the people and the energy to become something remarkable. It only needs the right leadership to match its potential,” she said.

Odunsi, a graduate of Management and Accounting from the University of Ife and a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), also holds executive education experience from Lagos Business School and other international institutions.

She is the founder and CEO of Eridan Group and serves on several organisational boards.
