PRESIDENT TINUBU CONGRATULATES OTEGA OGRA ON ELECTION TO WORLD FEDERATION OF ADVERTISERS EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated his Senior Special Assistant on Digital Engagement, Strategy and New Media, Mr Otega Ogra, following his election to the Executive Committee of the World Federation of Advertisers (WFA).

The election took place during the organisation’s Annual General Meeting held at the Global Marketing Week Conference in Stockholm, Sweden.

Tinubu described the development as a major milestone for Nigeria, saying it reflects the country’s growing influence in global communications and digital strategy.

He noted that Otega Ogra’s position as the only representative from West Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa on the WFA Executive Committee highlights the rising recognition of Nigerian professionals in the global marketing and communications industry.

Ogra was elected through the Advertisers Association of Nigeria (ADVAN), further underscoring Nigeria’s role in shaping international advertising and marketing standards.

The World Federation of Advertisers is a leading global body representing over 150 multinational and Fortune 500 companies, as well as national advertiser associations across more than 60 countries. Its Executive Committee serves as its highest decision-making body, overseeing global policies on advertising standards, media transparency, sustainability, and digital innovation.

The President said Ogra’s election is both a personal achievement and a strategic opportunity for Nigeria and Africa, positioning the region to contribute more actively to global discussions on brand trust, digital accountability, and the future of marketing.

He also commended Ogra for his contributions to Nigeria’s communications and digital ecosystem, noting his experience across the private and public sectors.

Tinubu added that the development aligns with his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly in promoting the creative economy, digital governance, and innovation-driven growth.

Other international industry leaders, including representatives from Australia and the United Kingdom, were also named to key positions within the WFA leadership structure.
