The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has taken into custody businessman and former chairman of Skye Bank Plc, Tunde Ayeni, over alleged financial irregularities involving about N36.5 billion and $30 million.

He was reportedly arrested in Abuja on Thursday and is currently being held as investigations continue. Authorities are said to be examining claims that the funds were diverted and misused through companies linked to him.

Investigators are focusing on transactions believed to involve money sourced from Polaris Bank Plc, with allegations that the funds were moved through a network of corporate entities connected to the businessman.
