Eyewitness accounts from the area say the attackers were heavily armed and operated in a coordinated manner, causing widespread panic as sustained gunfire echoed across the community. Many residents were forced to flee their homes for safety.

The Kwara State Police Command confirmed the incident, stating that information was still being gathered to determine the full details of the attack and assess the level of damage and casualties.

Authorities also recalled that the state had witnessed a series of similar violent incidents in recent days, including previous attacks on farming communities where civilians were killed and others abducted during invasions by armed groups.

In one of such earlier incidents, armed assailants reportedly attacked a rural community in Ifelodun Local Government Area, killing farmers on their farmlands and abducting residents, further heightening security concerns across the region.
