The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has launched a successful precision airstrike against a terrorist stronghold in Katsina State, eliminating several fighters and destroying a major hideout used for logistics operations.

The operation, carried out on May 1 under the Air Component of Operation Fansan Yamma, targeted an enclave located in the Dan-Aji Forest within Faskari Local Government Area.
NAF spokesperson, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, disclosed that the location served as a logistics base for notorious terrorist leader Abasu Aiki and his fighters operating around the Faskari, Kankara, and Funtua areas.

He explained that intelligence reports revealed renewed terrorist activities in the region, prompting the military action.
According to Ejodame, air surveillance identified armed terrorists riding motorcycles alongside other fighters gathered within the camp before the airstrike was executed.

He said post-strike assessments confirmed that multiple terrorists were neutralised, while the logistics base and nearby structures were completely destroyed.
The airstrike also caused explosions and large fires, significantly weakening the operational capabilities and supply network of the terrorist group.

The NAF maintained that the operation reflects its continued determination to eliminate terrorist hideouts and disrupt their activities across the region.
