‘THE GOV SAID IT’S NOT MY TURN’: CUBANA CHIEF PRIEST BREAKS SILENCE AFTER HE LOSES APC TICKET FOR REPS SEAT IN IMO STATE

In a detailed statement shared via his Instagram story, he clarified that he did not take part in the primary election, following consultations with party leaders and Governor Hope Uzodimma regarding the APC zoning arrangement in the constituency.

He explained that the party leadership maintained that Orlu Local Government Area should retain the seat for two terms before rotation, a decision he said he respected despite earlier expressing interest in contesting due to concerns about representation and performance.

According to him, once the party officially communicated its decision and selected preferred aspirants, he stepped down from the process and did not participate in the primaries, adding that he was not present at any voting venue.

He further dismissed claims linking him to the election outcome, describing such reports as misleading, and insisted that his decision was based on respect for internal party structure and leadership.

Cubana Chief Priest also reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC and expressed strong support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, pledging continued mobilization for the party’s “Renewed Hope” agenda.

He urged his supporters to remain calm and focused, stating that his political engagement and grassroots activities will continue in support of the party and its leadership.
