The Ogun State Police Command has urged residents to remain calm following reports circulating online about a possible planned attack or invasion by suspected kidnappers and bandits in parts of the state.
According to the police spokesperson, Oluseyi Babaseyi, there is currently no credible intelligence confirming any such threat, despite concerns raised by local hunters in some communities, including Odeda Local Government Area.

He explained that security agencies are actively monitoring the situation and have intensified patrols, surveillance operations, and intelligence gathering across vulnerable areas to prevent any breakdown of law and order.

The police also stated that they are working in collaboration with local hunters, vigilante groups, and other community-based security stakeholders to strengthen rapid response mechanisms and improve overall security coverage in the state.

Authorities warned residents against spreading unverified security alerts, stressing that false information can create unnecessary panic and disrupt public peace.
The command further noted that it had recently debunked a viral video purporting to show the arrest of kidnappers, clarifying that the footage was old and not related to any current incident.

Residents were advised to remain vigilant, report suspicious activities to security agencies, and rely only on official communication channels for accurate updates.
