Former Inspector-General of Police and All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant, Mohammed Abubakar-Adamu, has rejected the outcome of the party’s governorship primary in Nasarawa State, where Senator Aliyu Ahmed-Wadada was declared the winner.

The declaration was made by the Chairman of the APC Governorship Primary Committee in the state, Professor Theodore Maiyaki (SAN), who announced Ahmed-Wadada as the party’s flagbearer for the 2027 election.
Speaking in Lafia, Abubakar-Adamu alleged that the primary election was marred by irregularities and did not reflect the true wishes of party members and stakeholders across the state.

He claimed that the exercise was compromised in several areas, adding that in some locations where voting did not take place, result sheets were allegedly manipulated by officials working with certain local government authorities.
The former police chief insisted that where elections were properly conducted and votes counted, he emerged victorious, and therefore described the declared outcome as unjust.

He called on the APC leadership to investigate the alleged irregularities surrounding the process, urging the party to address what he described as injustices within the primary election.
Abubakar-Adamu maintained that his political ambition to serve and reposition Nasarawa State remained intact, while also hinting that he may consider alternative political options if fairness is not restored.

He appealed to his supporters to remain calm, peaceful, and law-abiding despite the controversy surrounding the primary election.
Meanwhile, Senator Ahmed-Wadada was declared winner of the primary after reportedly polling 195,285 votes, while Abubakar-Adamu secured 39,675 votes.
