A viral video of the operation showed armed police officers storming the location where the victims were being held. During the raid, one of the suspected kidnappers was seen attempting to hide inside a ceiling before being discovered and arrested by the operatives.

Security forces engaged the suspects in a gunfight during the operation, leading to the death of two alleged kidnappers, while several others reportedly escaped with injuries.

The police confirmed that the rescue was carried out by the Force Intelligence Department–Intelligence Response Team after days of surveillance and intelligence gathering that helped track the suspects to their location in Ibadan.

Authorities revealed that the victims were abducted on their way to school and were held for several days before the coordinated rescue operation took place. They were found unharmed and immediately placed under medical care and observation.

Police authorities also stated that efforts are ongoing to apprehend fleeing members of the kidnapping network, noting that the operation to dismantle the syndicate is still in progress.

Following the rescue, the family of the victims expressed gratitude to security agencies and government officials for their intervention, describing the operation as a result of coordinated efforts among security institutions.

The family also extended appreciation to national and state leaders as well as security chiefs for their support during the incident, while also acknowledging concern for other victims still in captivity across the country.

The operation comes amid rising insecurity concerns in parts of Oyo State, where recent abductions have sparked public anxiety and calls for stronger security measures. Police say operations are continuing to track remaining suspects linked to kidnapping activities in the region.
