In a major operation along the Jalingo axis in Taraba State, NDLEA officers stopped a truck transporting building materials from Anambra and discovered a large quantity of opioids concealed beneath the cargo. The vehicle was intercepted following intelligence reports, leading to the arrest of the driver’s assistant. A search of the truck revealed hundreds of thousands of tramadol capsules, codeine-based syrup, and other controlled substances.

In Ebonyi State, a 75-year-old man was arrested in connection with the alleged sale of cannabis packaged for distribution within the community.

Separate operations in Imo State led to the arrest of a suspected drug dealer in Orlu, where officers recovered several kilograms of illicit substances.

In Edo State, raids on known drug hotspots in Benin City resulted in the arrest of multiple suspects, including young women allegedly found with various quantities of cannabis, methamphetamine, and other hard drugs. Another suspect was also picked up in a different part of the city with additional controlled substances.

In Kano State, operatives arrested a teenager found with dozens of blocks of cannabis weighing several kilograms, while in Gombe State, another suspect was intercepted with thousands of tramadol capsules.

The NDLEA says the nationwide operations are part of ongoing efforts to dismantle drug trafficking networks and curb the distribution of illegal substances across communities.
