The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has stated that it has not officially released the results of its primary elections in any state, urging the public to ignore any candidate lists or results currently circulating online.
The clarification comes as the party continues to grapple with internal disputes in several state chapters following allegations that some of its primary elections were not conducted in line with established procedures.

Although the primaries were held in preparation for the 2027 general elections, the party has yet to make any official announcement regarding the outcome of the exercise.
The NDC leadership issued the statement amid growing tensions in Kano State, where disagreements have emerged between members of the Kwankwasiya Movement and long-standing party stakeholders over the conduct of the primaries and the selection of candidates.

According to the party, recent reconciliation talks involving national leaders and representatives of the opposing groups were aimed at promoting unity and ensuring that all members are fairly represented in the political process.
The party leadership reiterated its commitment to internal democracy, insisting that no candidates would be imposed in Kano State or elsewhere across the country.

Officials described the peace meeting as constructive, expressing optimism that ongoing dialogue would help resolve outstanding concerns and strengthen cohesion within the party.
The controversy intensified after unofficial lists of candidates and alleged primary winners surfaced on social media, prompting complaints from some members who claimed they had been sidelined during the nomination process.

Despite the speculation, the NDC maintained that no official results or candidate lists have been released and advised Nigerians to disregard any documents claiming otherwise until an official announcement is made.
