A 24-year-old Sudanese national, identified as Mohammed Sale Mohammed, has been arrested in Plateau State after he was reportedly found moving suspiciously in a bush area within Mangu Local Government Area.

Security sources said the suspect was apprehended on June 10, 2026, by a local farmer, Danjuma Watse, who noticed his unusual behaviour and quickly raised the alarm, leading to his arrest by the relevant authorities.
Preliminary findings reportedly suggest that the suspect entered Nigeria through irregular migration routes, passing through Libya and the Niger Republic before arriving in Plateau State.

During interrogation, Mohammed allegedly confessed to being part of a four-man group that crossed into Nigeria through unauthorized routes.
Authorities have since launched further investigations to determine the circumstances of his presence in the area, as well as to trace and apprehend the remaining members of the suspected syndicate.

Security agencies say efforts are ongoing to uncover any possible links to broader criminal or cross-border activities.
