The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Taiwo Oyedele, held a bilateral meeting with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, to discuss strategies for advancing infrastructure development and economic growth within the FCT.
During the meeting, both officials explored ways to strengthen collaboration in support of the FCT’s infrastructure renewal programme, with particular emphasis on completing long-abandoned projects to maximise their benefits for residents and boost development across the territory.
The discussions also focused on plans to streamline tax administration within the FCT by addressing multiple taxation and improving revenue collection in line with the provisions of the newly enacted tax reform law.
According to the ministers, the proposed measures are expected to enhance efficiency in tax administration, increase government revenue, and support the delivery of critical infrastructure and public services throughout the Federal Capital Territory.
