Police operatives in Zamfara State, working in collaboration with military personnel, have recovered 329 cattle and 175 sheep reportedly rustled by armed bandits during a coordinated security operation.

The recovery followed an intelligence-led raid carried out in Gumi Local Government Area, where security forces stormed a suspected bandit hideout in Gambanda Forest.
According to police reports, the operatives engaged the armed group in a gun battle, forcing the suspects to flee deeper into the forest and abandon the stolen livestock.
A spokesperson for the command confirmed that the animals were successfully recovered and secured, while efforts are ongoing to track down fleeing members of the criminal group.
Security authorities say the operation is part of sustained efforts to curb banditry, livestock theft, and other violent crimes across Zamfara State and surrounding regions.
