Former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, has officially received the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Certificate of Return, confirming him as the party’s governorship candidate for the 2027 Gombe State election.
The presentation took place at the PDP National Secretariat in Abuja following the ratification of his nomination by the party’s 109th National Executive Committee (NEC) and the National Working Committee (NWC). The event featured the presentation of Certificates of Return to governorship candidates whose nominations have been recognised and published by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Among those present was the Chairman of the PDP in Gombe State, Major General Amnon Kalaye Kwaskebe (Rtd.), who joined other party leaders and supporters in witnessing the formal confirmation of Pantami’s candidacy.
Pantami, who recently defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) after alleging irregularities in its governorship primary process, emerged as the PDP’s governorship candidate through an affirmation process. Receiving the Certificate of Return officially confirms his status as the party’s flagbearer ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Gombe State.
The PDP described the presentation as a significant milestone in its preparations for the 2027 general elections and expressed confidence in its candidates across the country.
