‘HE WILL NOT DEFEAT TINUBU IN LAGOS AGAIN’: PRESIDENCY SPEAKS ON PETER OBI’S CHANCES IN 2027 ELECTION (VIDEO)

Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare, has dismissed suggestions that the current administration is worried about the political ambitions of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

Speaking during an interview on the Mic On Podcast hosted by journalist Seun Okinbaloye, Dare said the Tinubu administration remains confident in its achievements and does not consider Obi a political threat.

According to him, while Obi may have posed a challenge in the past, the government believes its performance has strengthened its position ahead of future elections.

Dare also responded to Obi’s call for President Tinubu to resign, insisting that the President has no reason to step down.

He noted that just as Obi has the constitutional right to express his views, the government also has the right to reject such demands and defend its position.

He further explained that Nigeria operates a presidential system with elections held every four years, providing citizens with the opportunity to decide their leaders through the ballot box.

The presidential aide maintained that the administration is focused on addressing the country’s challenges and remains confident in its record of governance.

Dare also expressed confidence that Peter Obi would not defeat President Tinubu in Lagos in any future presidential contest, insisting that the current administration is on solid political footing.
