Addressing the visiting military leaders, the Army Chief described the anniversary as an important opportunity to strengthen military diplomacy, encourage professional collaboration, and promote the exchange of operational knowledge among allied armed forces. He said such engagements help build stronger relationships and improve joint efforts in tackling emerging security challenges.

Lieutenant General Shaibu noted that security threats have become increasingly complex and often transcend national borders, making cooperation, information sharing, and joint operational capabilities more important than ever. He emphasized that partnerships founded on trust and shared professional values are essential for maintaining peace, stability, and effective regional security.

The event attracted senior military representatives from several countries, highlighting a shared commitment to strengthening defence cooperation, enhancing military professionalism, and promoting international security.

The reception was one of several activities lined up for the week-long Nigerian Army Day Celebration in Rivers State, reflecting the Nigerian Army’s continued focus on expanding strategic partnerships and supporting collaborative security efforts at national, regional, and global levels.
